Anthropocene Series
This series of seven works is based on the Anthropocene epoch, which is a geological term describing the permanent changes made by humans on the planet, the impact of which will be seen in geological core samples into the future. It is interesting to think of who will be cataloging these events a thousand years from now. I find the act of creating art in general is a desire to communicate now and into the future. To be remembered. All humans have a desire to see the ongoing survival of the species but this is mitigated against the socio economic influences that we now know are putting long term survival at risk.
